Origin is a VESA open source edition available for a few hours.

Only 7 pieces have been purchased so far and last Friday they were on display through Morrow Collective at one of the most sought-after museum spaces in the world, the Museum of the Future in Dubai.

What fall are you talking about?

The Flower of Life pattern can be found in ancient temples around the world. It is said that everything in the material world arises through it. In the unity of this single pattern, the entire multifaceted, diverse cosmos is revealed. We humans have a lot in common, but we are as unique as our fingerprints. This creates a paradox of our existence. We are both centralized and decentralized at the same time. The war of perceptions between them is raging in most people. We need multiple states of consciousness to explore the sunbeam we are suspended from.

Origin is also an apt title for select work in this space, as VESA has been a leader in three art streams: Integral Art, Crypto Art, and NFT.

The room was full of people from the origins of crypto art and NFTs. The show was produced with the support of the UAE Embassy in the United States.

What was the show about?

Coexisting and collaborating people and ideas build on the growth of the entire ecosystem. The growing number of nodes or hives of activity increases the productivity and usefulness of the organism, whether it be the Internet or the city we are watching.

This collaborative, transformative nature of our contemporary creative endeavors is at the heart of Morrow Collective’s “Rhizomatic” art show at Nifty Gateway. The bridge building showcases teethers right on the mirage line of the physical and digital, and represents germinating rhizomatic principles from artist curation to physical exhibition space. What does a show like this say about the UAE as an emerging crypto hub? And is it an alien spaceship?

It was cool to come to the show in a 3rd street legal full scale NFT car.

The dream Team

The curation team at Morrow Collective has grown exponentially in the time I have known and worked with them. With love and respect to Anna Seaman, Claire Harris, Jen Stelko and Dave Shannon for doing this ❤️

The curation of the drop and the show itself is dedicated to artists from the United Arab Emirates and those working in them. The country, which is characterized by the fusion of nationalities, is becoming the leading launching pad for crypto and NFT projects around the world.

All the artists used the Web3 concepts in their practice and started to distill individual but shared narratives. Mattar Bin Lahej, Sasha Jafri, Orkhan Mammadov, Abdullah Albedwawi X Salem Al Zaabi, Madga Malkun, VESA, Fabin Rashid, Nujun Alganem and Christel Bechara were selected to participate in the exhibition. The curator, Morrow Collective, is known for bridging past and present with strong concepts and expressions.

Orkhan Mammadov’s work has been innovatively presented on the carpets from which he draws inspiration.

The work of Mattar bin Lahej, who also designed the calligraphy of the museum itself, is simply amazing. It was very nice to meet him.

The Morrow Collective Falls run in parallel with their actual exhibitions, presenting a multifaceted experience for the future savvy collector.

Open releases are closing soon:
Limited Editions:

Providing a drop platform will be a very famous player in space, Nifty Gateway.

The location of the physical exhibition, the Museum of the Future in Dubai, named the most beautiful building in the world, is a great backdrop for Rhizomatic, which is fully consistent with the desire to build new and at the same time develop the pedigree.

It was also very nice to meet you Coldy from the OG team of us, the top 10 artists in the crypto art space.

Likewise, meeting John from Superrare was a great privilege. He was one of the first professional calls I had in this space back in 2018.

Years ago, Anita, also known as Cryptograndmother, dreamed that we could exhibit my work at the Museum of the Future. It was great to share this moment with her and my wife. She has just opened her new website, so please go and check it out.

Dr. Marwan, as always, was eloquent!

look ahead

Recent developments in cryptography have again settled us among familiar questions; trust, user experience and real utility as concepts are in the air. Many point out that these types of incidents wreak havoc on the entire ecosystem, legacy global players entering the scene or truly prestigious art venues can be harder to defend for projects with blockchain or Web3 connotations. On the other hand, staying the course with a focus on partnerships and first-time rodeo players is an absolute must, and Rhizomatic is one of those examples of a platform, collective, and artists that are in it for the long haul and recognize the best place in the the world for this.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, not to mention the bear when you fly with the falcon.
