InterContinental Hotels & Resorts launches first NFT collection

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of its exclusive NFT collection under the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Luxury & Lifestyle Collection brand. The 10 exclusive non-fungible tokens were created in collaboration with contemporary British artist Claire Luxton and created specifically for the brand using the natural flora and fauna characteristic of the artist’s work.

In addition to ownership, each of the 10 NFTs includes InterContinental Ambassador status, which provides benefits and increased recognition through Platinum Elite status in the IHG One Rewards program, as well as one night stay at the new InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace.

NFT artist Claire Luxton says: “Many people asked me to create a collection of collectible NFTs, but it was important to wait for the right partnership. Given the established relationship I have built with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, the collaboration was a natural fit. The brand’s ability to transcend multiple cultures is inspiring and this project allowed me to transform my original work for InterContinental into contemporary digital art. Each one is a reminder of the elegance of traveling the world, a theme at the heart of our partnership. Offering IHG Hotels & Resorts guests the opportunity to experience art in a new way, this collection will enable people to digitally collect my work for the first time and will bring a new wave of art lovers to the InterContinental fold.”

The NFT Bundle will initially be available exclusively to IHG One Rewards members, with further activations to follow at a later date. Members will be able to use their points to bid on five NFTs through the IHG One Rewards auction platform.

NFT recipients will be granted ownership of an NFT with custom artwork by Claire Luxton, one-night stay at the InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace, and InterContinental Ambassador status for one year. NFT ownership is permanent, granting access to all NFT trading rights. NFT trading is locked for one year until travel benefits expire, after which it becomes a collectible.

This is the third part of the hotel’s partnership with Claire Luxton. Previously, the artist created an installation that was projected onto the façade of InterContinental London Park Lane in honor of the brand’s 75th anniversary.th Anniversary. The partnership then led to the opening of breathtaking experiences at InterContinental London Park Lane, New York Barclay and Dubai Festival City.
