Not another one-time NFT initiative
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND, Nov. 21, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Use cases for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have become more diverse due to their rapid adoption, one of which is philanthropy. NFTs can be used to raise funds in a transparent manner with the potential to reach a very wide audience. Some large organizations have already adopted NFTs as a way to organize fundraising for charitable causes, such as WWF with their Non-Interchangeable Animals (NFA)Alivia Buy my cancer Series of NFTs for Cancer Treatment Funding, Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund with their carbon-neutral moon gorillasas well as $6M Beeple NFT Auction donated Open Earth Foundation. Recently, Homo+ launched a new format for charitable organizations under hashtags #collecthelp as well as #C2H.
NFTs are often associated with gaming and speculative investments, and not everyone thinks NFTs for charity are a good idea. However, Homo+ is not another one-time NFT project. Gomo+ aims to raise awareness of biodiversity loss and its impact on humanity. It aims to organically create a community that cares about nature and takes action to protect it. Each NFT collection will support the cause. The Gomo+ team has chosen the first collections and causes to support, while the community is expected to decide which next causes will be supported and future collections will be built accordingly.
The Gomo+ story began in early 2022 at a meeting of colleagues, former colleagues and friends dedicated to the life of the late Margo, also known as Gomo. Margo was a dog found faded in appalling conditions at a construction site who became the liaison for the nascent innovation lab’s team and its director of entertainment. Her excitement and concern for every moving creature delighted and motivated everyone around her.
The Gomo+ project encourages people to care for nature as much as it does and to support those who protect it. NFTs are being used as a tool to reach and engage with an audience that values the importance of communities — the same audience that supports DeFi, participates in Discord groups, and contributes to the DAO. Those who buy and trade NFTs will also know who they will help – all this will be visible in smart contracts. Secondary sales of these NFTs will continue to support environmental protection through royalties.
Gomo+ hopes that the audience trying to build a fairer financial system will also want to support real business in a different way and with NFTs with a goal that can be collected. Also, NFT collectors are known to love animal themes, so Gomo+ is well worth checking out! Collect your NFT to help gomoplus.xyz.
